Arbor Bed and Breakfast Prince George

Welcome to Arbor Bed and Breakfast

Arbor Bed and Breakfast Hosts: Peter and Julie Griffiths

When Peter and Julie moved back to Prince George in 1998 they were planning to start a Bed and Breakfast.   Julie had many years of small business marketing and customer service and they were excited about choosing a home in a part of Prince George that offered forests, trails and clean country air. When they bought the house the garden was mostly gravel and weeds BUT it was adjacent to over 100 km of trails,  and only a 10-minute drive from town.

Peter and Julie have traveled extensively including Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Costa Rica, Fiji, Singapore and Hawaii and have enjoyed the Bed and Breakfast experiences worldwide. They have also participated in two exciting Northern Canadian  Raft trips – one on the Tatshenshini River and one on the Burnside River which flows into the Arctic Ocean.

In the “off-season” Julie has time for her other passions – Nordic Skiing and Sewing/Art Quilting. Examples of her handiwork are evident throughout the B&B.

Although the B&B is primarily Julie’s, Peter is an active participant when he is home and helps out with driving guests to the train, enjoying morning conversation and tackling the never-ending “To Do” list. For recreation, Peter loves time spent with the Julie and Dash, swimming, skiing, and reading.

Meet Dashiell!  Dash joined our household in March 2017 after many months of anticipation.  He is our third English Springer Spaniel from   Bondir Kennels in Calgary.

Dashiell and his four littermates were born December 21, 2016, and were named the “Mystery Litter” because there were two Dad’s involved – on purpose. So all the pups had to be DNA tested to see who the sire was.

Amazingly all the pups were fathered by Arthur!  After weeks and weeks of assessments, behavioral testing and indecision we got the call we were waiting for and Lynn and Anne said we could have Dashiell.  We were over the moon and drove to pick him up in Calgary March the 19.

Dash has been a joy and has emerged as a B&B favourite.  He understands Flemish, German, Dutch, Italian, and French with a smattering of Swiss-Deutch.

He is growing into a beautiful dog who greets our guests politely and is willing to show them how to use his Agility Equipment in the backyard at any time.  He is in his second level of Obedience Classes and loves his fun Agility sessions.  Although he has lots of high-performance potential most of his activities are for fun, not competition.

The Rainbow Bridge

Those that have stayed with us before will probably remember our three previous four-legged B&B hosts.  Oliver and Shadow our two black and white Springer Spaniels and Furry our very gorgeous orange tabby cat.  They are greatly missed and Dash has very big pawprints to fill
